Housing Market, Bank Reforms and Local Government Finance in China
Bank reform in China has not yet finished, but now there are two pressing issues relating to banking debts China, that is, rising house prices and local government debts. How to understand the interface of bank performance, house prices and local finance is an important and challenging issue facing the Chinese government. This seminar by Prof. Shujie YAO, Head of School of Contemporary Chinese Studies of the University of Nottingham will address the current situation of these problems and discuss their policy implications on China's future economic reforms.
